  • “Deploying the latest Intelligent Fingerprinting Reader unit has helped our HR team to increase random drug testing productivity thanks to its faster analysis capabilities” Dan Clayton, HR Manager, A & F Sprinklers

A & F Sprinklers, one of the UK’s leading fire protection and sprinkler system specialists, has adopted the Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System to support its random drug testing programme.

Based in Rochdale, A & F Sprinklers works with customers ranging from small local businesses to major retailers. A recent upgrade to the latest Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening Reader has allowed its HR team to almost triple productivity when carrying out random tests, making the process faster and more efficient.

Why Fingerprint Testing?

The Intelligent Fingerprinting system analyses sweat collected from fingerprints to check for recent use of cannabis, cocaine, opiates, and methamphetamine. Testing takes place in-house, is quick and non-intrusive, and provides a strong deterrent to help employees follow Health & Safety policies.

Dan Clayton, HR Manager at A & F Sprinklers, said:

“When we first introduced drug screening, we wanted a solution that was hygienic and easy for both HR and colleagues to use. Urine testing was immediately ruled out, and we felt saliva testing was too invasive. Fingerprint drug testing met all of our requirements.”

He added:

“The portability of the DSR-Plus unit, its all-day battery, and faster analysis have made testing far more practical across our operations. With the upgrade, we’re now able to conduct about three times as many random tests, which has been a real productivity gain for the HR team.”

Harry Simeonidis, President and CEO of Intelligent Bio Solutions, commented:

“Random drug testing is proving to be a powerful deterrent against drug misuse in the workplace, which can create significant safety risks. We’re delighted that A & F Sprinklers has chosen our fingerprint solution to extend testing across their workforce.”

How It Works

The Intelligent Fingerprinting system uses a tamper-evident Cartridge to collect sweat from all ten fingertips in under a minute. Results are then provided on-screen by the portable analysis unit within ten minutes.
