Spjotgard Accelerates Fingerprint Drug Testing in Scandinavia

Intelligent Fingerprinting is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intelligent Bio Solutions.

The Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System is gaining traction across Sweden, Norway, and Denmark through a growing partnership with regional distributor Spjotgard. With increasing interest from Finland, the partnership reflects the growing demand for non-invasive, dignified alternatives to traditional drug testing methods. Founded in 2021 by a team with deep pharmaceutical expertise, Spjotgard has quickly become a trusted provider of workplace drug testing solutions in Scandinavia. The company has positioned the Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Testing Solution as its flagship solution in response to shifting regional expectations for accuracy, hygiene, and user experience.

“From the very beginning, we’ve seen strong interest in fingerprint-based testing across the region,” said Hans Svensson, joint owner of Spjotgard. “Traditional methods like saliva and urine are still common, but our customers, especially in workplace safety and education, are seeking more hygienic, easy to use and less invasive alternatives. Fingerprint drug testing delivers that while delivering comparable levels of accuracy, saving time and reducing disruption.”

Rising concerns about drug driving and youth substance misuse in Sweden are prompting organisations to adopt more proactive screening strategies. Fingerprint drug testing supports this shift by delivering results in under ten minutes, without the need for supervision or bathroom facilities. It is already in use across logistics, construction, warehousing, education, and the criminal justice sector.

Spjotgard continues to expand its reach by partnering with complementary service providers, including companies offering alcohol testing solutions and drug-detection dog services. This includes a partner with a long-standing presence in evidential alcohol testing instruments for judicial authorities and automated alcohol entry systems for workplaces.

“Scandinavia is setting a high standard in progressive drug testing policy, particularly Sweden, which is often seen as a model for neighboring countries,” said Doug Heath, Vice President of Global Sales at Intelligent Bio Solutions. “Spjotgard’s strong market knowledge and trusted relationships make them a valuable partner as we continue to scale across Northern Europe.”

The Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System allows for rapid, on-site drug screening using fingerprint sweat. Unlike traditional methods requiring supervision, third-party administration, or removing staff from the job, fingerprint drug testing offers a discreet and efficient solution that is quickly gaining favor among HR teams, health and safety managers, and union representatives in Scandinavia.

With more than 450 customer accounts in 24 countries, Intelligent Fingerprinting continues to support the global transition toward more effective and respectful workplace drug testing.
