Medtech specialist, Tenby Medical, becomes first Canadian distributor of fingerprint drug screening system

Intelligent Fingerprinting’s revolutionary fingerprint-based drug testing system is now readily available in Canada following the appointment of Tenby Medical, a Canadian distributor of innovative medtech solutions. The company is the latest organisation to join Intelligent Fingerprinting’s growing global partner community.

Tenby Medical already supplies large corporations across Canada with a range of medical equipment needed to support occupational health operations. The company will now offer the Intelligent Fingerprinting drug screening system – that simply works by analysing a sample of sweat from fingerprints to detect drug use – directly to organisations and to the increasing number of occupational health service providers who work remotely, supporting HR departments in delivering drug policy adherence and fit to work assessments.

Randal Roberts, Partner at Tenby Medical said: “We had been looking for an alternative to traditional drug testing methods involving urine and saliva, so I was very interested to learn how Calgary-based Wilco Group was using Intelligent Fingerprinting’s non-invasive approach to assist their recruitment and HR operations. The fact that Wilco was set to achieve a compelling $20-25,000 CAD annual saving with the new fingerprint-based drug screening system also suggested that there are significant operational benefits with this drug testing method.

“Tenby Medical has a proven track record of bringing innovative medtech solutions to market, and we’re excited to support them as they introduce our revolutionary fingerprint-based drug screening system to a wider market across Canada,” added Philip Hand, Intelligent Fingerprinting’s Executive Chairman. “The Tenby Medical team also recognise the key role that our testing approach can play in supporting safer and less invasive drug screening programmes during the COVID-19 lockdown period and beyond.”

“Intelligent Fingerprinting’s system is very easy-to-use and also highly innovative, so fits well with Tenby Medical’s objective to offer exciting new products. We’ve had early discussions with some of our national customers about the technology, and I’m very excited about their initial reactions’” continued Randal Roberts. “I think there will be a lot of interest in the product, especially in the current climate where mouth swab testing isn’t ideal. The fact that the fingerprint sweat approach can enable testing while also adhering to social distancing guidelines is a major benefit. We are looking forward to being able to demo the product remotely to our customer base over the coming weeks.”

Please note that in the USA the system is currently only available for forensic use.
