Eastern Airways to Use Intelligent Fingerprinting’s Portable, Non-Invasive Drug Test to Support New European Aviation Authority Regulations
Intelligent Fingerprinting, a leader in portable, non-invasive drug screening, has partnered with Eastern Airways to help ensure employee fitness-to-work. As part of the airline’s commitment to complying with the European Aviation Authority’s (EAA) new regulations, Eastern Airways will begin using our innovative fingerprint sweat-based drug testing system.
This system will allow the airline to perform on-site, random drug testing for flight crews, maintenance personnel, and other staff across its network of UK and Northern Ireland airports. The Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System is a hygienic, fast, and cost-effective alternative to traditional drug tests. It screens for substances like cannabis, cocaine, opiates, and methamphetamines by collecting fingerprint sweat, with results available in just 10 minutes.
Charles Auty, Safety Manager at Eastern Airways, explained: “With the new regulations focusing on aircrew fitness, we needed a solution that was both reliable and easy to implement. The Intelligent Fingerprinting system allows us to conduct tests in-house at any airport, making it the ideal fit for our needs.”
The portable, tamper-evident drug testing kits are small enough to be carried on board aircraft, allowing for seamless, flexible testing as required. The system’s convenience, portability, and speed make it particularly suited to the airline industry, where rapid, non-invasive testing is crucial.
