Intelligent Fingerprinting shortlisted for national business award

21 May 2012 - Intelligent Fingerprinting has been shortlisted in the ‘Business Impact - Aspiring’ category of The Impact Awards.  The Awards are organised by PraxisUnico, the UK's leading research commercialisation organisation.

Founded in 2007, Intelligent Fingerprinting is a spin-out company of the University of East Anglia (UEA).  Its prototype handheld device detects the use of drugs and other substances by analysing the sweat contained in fingerprints, enabling mobile drug testing with rapid results coupled with identity authentication.  The company recently raised £2m in funding from a consortium of private US-based investors and has attracted worldwide interest in its technology for a wide range of applications, from testing employees to ensure they are ‘fit for duty’ to screening drivers at the roadside for drug use.

The Impact Awards recognise the success of  higher education, research institutions and charities working together with the business community to transfer knowledge and expertise for the wider benefit of society and the economy.   ‘The Business Impact – Aspiring’ Award, for which Intelligent Fingerprinting has been shortlisted, recognises projects that demonstrate potential for making outstanding commercial impact in the future.  The Award attracts nominations from all sectors of technology and innovation, including licensing and spin-out deals.

The Impact Awards Ceremony will take place on 14 June 2012 where the winners will be announced.  Further information about the Awards is available at
